OUR MISSION STATEMENT

" Our mission and vision of future is human awerness that leads toward love, mutual understanding and respect of all beeings and nature. "

OUR GOALS

Our goals are the following:

- Nurturing and application of Natural principles in daily, scientific, academic and professional work

- Scientific and professional research of ecological human rights, education both of lawyers and other professionals, developing awareness about content and protection of ecological and human rights in general.

- Developing and improvement of all ecological fields.

- Bringing up ecological awareness among young people.

- Spreading ecological awareness and morality in wider social community.

- Stimulating application of results of researches in practice and school education.

- Active participation in creation of programs and agendas in field of ecology, protection and improvement of environment at all levels of school education.

- Participation in all forms of social life, especially those segments that refer to protection and improvement of environment.

- Influencing all social structures that participate in imposing the laws, legal acts and programs of scientific and technological development of country.

In our approche we tend to be obeservant of international decrees and domestic laws.

SCOPE OF OUR WORK

Since nature is one big organism, scope of our work is highly wide.
We deal with all areas of environment, ecology and main fields are:
education, sustainable development, polution, energy, protection of species and habitat (conservation), food, biodiversity, human rights, laws, monitoring and all of them are divided into various categories.

Although all areas we cover in our work indirectly influence nature, even more that direct ones, those that directly influnce nature, animals and plants and are part of our campaigns and strategies in the same time, are the following:

- education of children and public by special programes.

- sustainable (what is sustainable, laws of sustainability, analyssys, corporate thinking, sustainable living).

- Poluttion (social polution, chemical polution, termal polution, EMS polution, radioactiv polution, partical polution, solid waste, toxic waste, alternatives, map of poluters, recycling)

- Energy (problem, save energy, nuclear energy, hydro, termal, solar, geotermal, biomass energy, eco house, eco town).

- Food (chemical additivs, safety food labels, organic food, vegetarians).

- Enact the laws and monitoring, protection of spieces and habitats (conservation and biodiversity, loss of habitats, trade, commercial hunting, animal industry, vivisection, animals for entertainment and sport, pets).

ACTIVITIES IN THE PAST

Our activities in legal field
We are members of Green net of NGOs that cooperates with the Gevernment of Republic of Serbia, Ministry of science and eviroment protection and head office for enviroment protection.
Our aim is to suggest and discuss law drafts.
We gathered all international and domestic laws that refer to enviroment protection.
Thay are presented on our web site.
We prepare domestic law about eco labeling. Filing the plies regarding ilegal actions of state organs in cooperation with two more NGO, we maneged to bring to pass imposing of law that refers to animal wellfare.
CITES lists and EU reg. are elaborated in a form of guidbook for identification of species.

Our other activities include filing application for ilegal activities in environmental fields and other NGO trainings for sustainable working.

Our activities regarding species and habitat protection (conservation)
We provide hihgly professional web and interactive projects regarding animal and plant species in Serbia.
Amphibians and reptilia are elaborated. Our aim is to elaborate fishes, birds, mamels and present it trough Internet presentation and monografies.
There are photographies, maps of dispersions, habits, IUCN and other categories of endangerness etc.
We are connected with a gruoup that has already elaborated a part of insects in Serbia.
Interactive map of protected habitats and national parks is finished.
We are preparing for the time beeing only forest conservation NGO network campaigne in the country.

Our activities regarding education of children and public
Children work shops and lectures in nature in four day duration.
Books for children regarding propper behavior toward nature and animals are finished.
We established cooperation with local government, secretariat for education of city of Belgrade, and have distributed guide books trough out all schools in the capital.
We are regulary publishing didactically texts in magazines and daily newspapers.
Our aim is to start pilot project during next year. It will refer to children education both in kinder gardens and elementary schools. Children with special requirements will be important part of our work, as well.
We were participants of KIDS FILM FEST, on ecological issue, during September 2006. in Belgrade.
In year 2007. we will organise the firs KIDS ECO FILM FEST in Belgrade.

Our activities in holding up of polution, loss of habitats and trade that endanger animals
All legal activities are stoped both by laws that are either non egsisting or not well enough defined. We are also facing huge problems with ilegal activities which are not stopable for the time beeing. We would like to mention that in spite of law we are facing huge problems.
Officials in governmental instituition are dissmising laws and often personaly break them. NGOs in Serbia themself make the same offenses, because there is no democratic culture and thinking.

Our activities on animal rights issue
Commercial hunting, animal industry, vivisection, animals used for sport and entratainment are just a part of our atractive campaigns, with aim to create different opinion in public.
A lot of activities are unvailed publicly. Filing the plies regarding ilegal actions of state organs in cooperation with two more NGO, we maneged to bring to pass imposing of law that refers to animal wellfare. The law is currently beeing processed in Parlamet. Our activities regarding education, prevention and protection of the pets are joined in SOS center thatt offers help to animals. There are active services in the center for lost and found pets, adopting services, free advises and books, SOS web form sheet, celular phone to report malestation, laws regarding pets, current campaigns and addresses of vets, vet pharmacies, shelter.....shops and commercial advertisments.

First study of its kind taht deals with a problem of stray dogs in Serbia, methods of work, ways of solving the problems in humane manner, EU conventions on pet animals, oral vactination programme against rabidity according to WHO recomendations is already prepared...
We also gathered health statistics for rabies and CE for period year 2001 - 2005 on 75 pages.
Only egsisting study of that kind for the time beeing we have already filed to local municipality and government.

Center for developing of ecological awareness - "The Well"

We have been active since year 2001 and
officialy registrated since 25.08. 2005., under reg. number 9277,
because of the past political situation in Serbia.
